HEALTH CARE FACILITIES

The following are Health Care projects presently ongoing by Hampton Architects Inc. since its inception in 2002, or completed under former firms.

Janeway Child Health Centre
Health Sciences Centre Complex
St. John's, NL

Health Care Design Consultants (four architectural and three engineering firms) was commissioned in late 1996 to design and manage the construction of the new children and women’s hospital.

This four (4) storey, 30,000 square metre facility was constructed adjacent to the existing Health Science Complex in St. John’s.

The Owner of the facility is the St. John’s Health Care Corporation. A critical element of this Project was to make the new addition functional and compatible to the existing Health Science Complex, yet provide a separate identity with a minimum of disruption.

Renovations and Extension
James Paton Memorial Hospital
Gander, NL

1989 marked the beginning of a Functional Analysis and Master Plan Re-Development of the 25 year old, 256 bed, acute care Hospital.

The Master Plan Re-Development Report was completed in the Fall of 1990 and included a proposed 12,000 SM expansion to accommodation all new critical care areas and back-up facilities.

The existing Hospital is in the process of being extended and renovated using a phasing process; to house critical care patient areas, soft serviced departments and bedrooms.

Renos to Health Sciences Centre
Joint Venture -
Health Care Design Consultants
St. John’s Health Care Corporation

During the Fall of 1997 a Joint Venture Partnership, Health Care Design Consultants (four architectural and three engineering firms), was commissioned to design and manage the construction of the interior renovations to the Health Sciences Centre Complex.

This redevelopment was necessitated by the consolidation of health care services in the St. John’s area, including the addition of the Janeway Child Health Centre to the Health Science Centre Complex. The project included a small addition, as well as extensive interior renovations to the facility.
